Leading manufacturer of new generation freight cars in the CIS

The construction of Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant (TVSZ) was launched in 2008. The leading world
companies from over 15 countries — Germany, the USA, Austria, Great Britain, Canada, Spain, Israel, etc.
— took part in the creation of the advanced knowledge-intensive production facility. In January 2012 the
production was officially launched by Vladimir Putin.
TVSZ JSC is a part of Research and Production Corporation United Wagon Company — a leading Russian
railway holding in the field of manufacturing, transport services and operating leasing, engineering and
maintenance of new generation freight cars.

PRODUCTION AND INNOVATIONS

Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant is an integrated plant.
Car Shop and Foundry are integrated in one solid process
system.
Over 20 automatic and automated lines, over 100 indus-
trial robots, 3 automated warehouses are used in the plant.
Foundry production is equipped with the modern
molding line, melting furnaces, centers for castings machin-
ing produced by the leading foreign suppliers. Environmen-
tally friendly technological processes and materials provide
high-quality castings, which comply with the international
standards.
Car Shop is equipped with automatic line to assemble
and to weld car bodies and to manufacture the wheel sets.
Many samples of the equipment, installed in TVSZ, exist
only in several copies in the world and are operated in the
most modern enterprises of Europe and North America.
