PRODUCTS

The enterprise produces high-quality high-carbon ferrochrome which is mainly applied in the stainless steel
production.
High-carbon ferrochrome is produced in electric arc furnaces out of the chrome ore concentrate by the
continuous ore-thermal process. Chrome and iron are recovered from the chrome ore concentrate by the coke
carbon. Metal ingots after cooling are crushed up and classified onto various commodity fractions. Average
value of the chrome content in finished goods of TFZ is about 70%.

PRODUCTION AND INNOVATIONS

At the end of 2009 TFZ received the certificate of conformity
with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 standard for quality
management. In 2014 the plant successfully passed recertifica-
tion, and also received the certificate extension on compliance
with the system of ecological management to the international
ISO 14001 standard. In 2017 the plant received the work safety
and health protection system certificate on compliance with
requirements of the international OHSAS 18001 standard.
Use of modern production technologies along with applica-
tion of the latest gas treatment facilities allow providing uncondi-
tional observance of standards of admissible emissions on all the
substances normalized in the Russian Federation. Thus the actual
volumes of emissions of the majority of polluting substances are
essentially less than standards. The most part of dust collected
in the course of production is briquetted and comes back to pro-
duction.

SELLING MARKETS

The share of TFZ LLC is nearly a quarter of the Russian market
of ferrochrome (according to the analytical edition Metall Expert)
and nearly one and a half percent of the world market of fer-
rochrome. The goods of the enterprise are widely demanded
in a foreign market, more than 90% of the total output amount
is exported.
Tikhvin ferrochrome goes to such countries as the USA, Can-
ada, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, India,
China, the CIS. More than 60% of exported ferrochrome goes
to the European countries.
