Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant produced the 100,000th freight car since 2012 when it was launched.
“We are proud of the enterprise, its employees, today 13,000 people work here, this is the largest enterprise in Leningrad region. We are grateful to the company because they have invested in both production and urban development. We hope that our partnership will continue and we will be proud of new projects which we will implement,” said Deputy Chairman of the Government of Leningrad Region Dmitry Yalov during a solemn opening ceremony.
The 100,000th freight car was manufactured for State Transport Leasing Company within a contract on delivery of 20,000 open wagons until the end of 2022.
Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant is a part of Research and Production Corporation “United Wagon Company” which is currently the largest manufacturer of freight cars in Russia and the CIS.
