The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is an annual Russian business event in the economic sphere, held in St. Petersburg since 1997. The main audience of the forum is the heads of the largest Russian and foreign companies, heads of state and political leaders, heads of government, deputy prime ministers, ministers, and governors. Since 2001, it has been recognized in the business community as the main such economic forum in the CIS.

The key business event of the Leningrad region brings together three parties - business, science and government - to discuss industrial policy, support and development of business in the region. This year the main topic of the forum is the production of the future. During a plenary session with the participation of the Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko business, authorities and experts will discuss “How not to be late to the day after tomorrow?” – challenges and opportunities for business appearing as the result of the introduction of advanced production technologies. “Leningrad region has always been and stays among innovators, “pilots”, those who not just embody ideas, but gives them a start for replication in the country. Today among the topical subjects in the economy are the introduction of new technologies in the industry, robotization of production, there is a task to reduce the carbon footprint for exporters. BRIEF’21 is a platform for dialogue and networking, where investors receive feedback from the Administration of Leningrad Region and support institutions, get acquainted with the experience of doing business in Leningrad region, establish cooperation ties both inside the region and with the representatives of business from Europe, Asia and the USA. In 2020 more than 700 participants from 10 countries took part in the forum online and offline, more than 300 information materials were published in mass media. The Baltic Region Investment Forum BRIEF’21 is organized by the Economic Development Agency of Leningrad Region and the Industry Development Centre of Leningrad Region. The partners of the forum are the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce, the Leningrad regional branch of Business Russia and the National Research University ‘Higher School of Economics’.

Online 20 January 2021 russiaexpo.org/rsbf Swedish-Russian Business Forum took place online 20 January 2021 and was dedicated to environmental issues. The main aim of the event was the exchange of experience between representatives of the countries, the establishment of business communication in the sphere of development of environmentally friendly business, environmental protection, development and implementation of environmental programmes. The participants of the event included representatives of the federal and regional authorities, the Embassy of Sweden in Russia, Swedish Chamber of Commerce for Russia & CIS, Swedish Foreign Trade Council, All Russia Public Organization Business Russia, development institutions.
