The grand opening was attended by Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko.
This socially significant facility was created through a public-private partnership (PPP). Dmitry Yalov, former head of the Leningrad Region government's economic bloc, whose team signed a concession agreement for the pool's construction several years ago, also came to accept the work.
Project Investments:
944.4 million rubles – budgetary investments (regional and federal)
Over 1 billion rubles – total investment
What awaits visitors:
Three swimming pools, a pool for competitive swimming, and separate pools for children (ages 7-10 and 14 and up) and adults.
Two multifunctional halls for physical education and fitness classes.
The project was caught in a "perfect storm": first, it endured Covid-19 restrictions, then sanctions that impacted equipment supply, and high bank interest rates. But today we see the results of this colossal effort—we've overcome all the difficulties and created an excellent sports facility that will delight residents and operate effectively for many years to come.
—noted Vice Governor for Economic Development Yegor Misheryakov.
