During a working visit to the Vsevolozhsk District, the Governor of the Leningrad Region visited the production facility of Orion (trade name MiruMed). This visit showcased the results of large-scale investments that have led to a technological breakthrough in Russian medicine.
The company, which had been successfully operating in the food packaging industry for over 26 years, made a strategic decision several years ago to diversify its products and enter the high-tech market. As a result, in 2025, Orion became the first in Russia to launch production of finished sharpened needle tubes—a key component for the subsequent assembly of medical needles.
Investment in the construction of the new line totaled 1.5 billion rubles.
This launch closes a critically important technological chain within the country and strengthens the independence of Russian healthcare.
