Cooperation with UNIDO

Economic Development Agency of Leningrad Region and UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation agreed on cooperation.

During a meeting which took place in the Front Office for Investor Relations of the Administration of Leningrad Region Director of the Agency Andrey Sergeev gave presentation of investment potential of Leningrad region and told about work of the Agency to the representatives of the Centre.

Director Sergey Korotkov in his turn told about main directions of work of the Centre for International Industrial Cooperation which is a subdivision of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The main aim of the Centre is development of international economic, technological, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation of Russian organizations with partners in developed and developing countries.

The Centre is a co-organizer of various thematic events, for example such as Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit which will take place on 9-11 July in Ekaterinburg.

The first meeting with the representatives of UNIDO took place in March. The delegation of UNIDO presented innovative solutions in recycling and told about successful cases and technologies which already bring efficient results in many countries and can be introduced in the territory of our region.

By the end of the meeting the parties decided to assist each other in search and implementation of projects.
