This week special attention in Leningrad region is paid to agro-industrial and fishery complexes. Several largest sectoral events are taking place these days.
Our region is the main participant of Global Fishery Forum. Twenty leading fishery enterprises of Leningrad region were presented at the exhibition stand. Among them was a large project of Petrotral-2 on construction of a waterside complex for acceptance and processing of fish in Ust-Luga, with capacity of 700,000 tonnes of products per year. Implementation of the project includes investments amounting to more than 750 million rubles and creation of 160 new jobs.
New investments and development of aquaculture of Leningrad region were discussed during International Agricultural Exhibition and Trade Fair AGRORUS which is taking place these days. An agreement on investments in construction of a fishery factory was signed at the exhibition. Sea Basis company is going to construct a factory for breeding trout, sturgeon, sharptooth catfish and tilapia which are traditional for the region. Project capacity of the enterprise is 8.6 tonnes of fish per year, 200 new jobs are planned to be created. Investments will come to more than 4 billion rubles.
Besides, production of cheese continues to develop actively in Leningrad region. An agreement on construction of a cheese production department was signed during AGRORUS. Investments of Dairy Culture company in the project will come to 500 million rubles. The company is planning to manufacture 5,000 tonnes of products per year, create 20 new jobs.
This year Leningrad region holds an agrotechnological exhibition International Field Day. “The fact that International Field Day is held in the region proves that achievements of Leningrad region in agro-industrial complex are recognized. It is also a good opportunity to show our hospitality, exchange experience with colleagues,” noted the head of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko. More than 8,000 agricultural experts from the whole country, over 160 agricultural organizations, about 800 items of special machinery and equipment were located at a training field of State Agrarian University.
