Leningrad region entered top-10 regions in terms of the quality of life

Leningrad region has climbed three positions and occupied the 8th place in the ranking of Russian regions in terms of the quality of life.

Over the year Leningrad region showed significant growth: according to the results of 2018 the region occupied the 11th place, and it climbed three positions in the new research.

The first ten regions are characterized by high level of economic development – about 40% of the total gross regional product belongs to them.  

The research is conducted by RIA News. The rating is prepared taking into consideration 70 indices which determine actual status of living conditions and the situation in social sphere. Among them are: income of the citizens, employment and labour market, living conditions, safety of living, demographic situation, etc.

According to data of 11 months of 2019 the average salary in the region has grown by 5.9% and amounted to 44,900 rubles. According to preliminary estimates, in the end of the last year real income of the population of Leningrad region will be 100.4% in comparison with 2018 (100.1% in Russia).
