Leningrad region signed 30 agreements during SPIEF-2021

Leningrad region signed 30 agreements over two days of SPIEF-2021. The volume of investments amounted to 1 trillion 32 billion 36 million rubles, which is more than a quarter of the total volume of investments of the forum. 3 trillion 860 billion rubles – the total volume of the agreements signed at SPIEF. Thus, our region is at the top of the unofficial rating of SPIEF leaders in terms of the signed agreements.

The agreement on construction of a gas and chemical complex which is a part of the Complex for processing ethane-containing gas (CPEG) in Ust-Luga concluded with Baltic Chemical Complex became the largest during the second day of the forum. The volume of investments in the project will amount to 868 billion rubles, 1,800 new jobs will be created. The gas and chemical complex will become the largest factory in the world for the production of polyethylene. It will be made of ethane received at a gas processing complex which is also a part of the CPEG.

Two agreements were also concluded with RusKhimAlyans, the operator of the gas processing complex, and Baltic Chemical Complex, according to which the parties will be working on the creation of the special economic zone in Ust-Luga.

An important project in the sphere of sustainable development is the creation of a carbon-free area within the agreement with RUSNANO.

Leningrad region was included in a large-scale project on the development of tourism infrastructure in the Baltic region by the conclusion of an agreement with the Federal Agency for Tourism, the Government of Saint Petersburg, the Government of Kaliningrad region and RZD-Invest. The project is aimed at the development of sailing in three regions and includes the creation of 11 yacht marinas, 7 of them will be located in Leningrad region.

The Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko and the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin signed an agreement on the implementation of a project on the introduction of a unified transport card Troyka. The card will become a single ticket for public transport in Moscow and Leningrad region starting from 2021.

An agreement with MegaFon will contribute to the improvement of the quality of communication services, development of digital projects and cybersport in the region.

The largest independent manufacturer of natural gas in Russia – NOVATEK – will continue supporting social projects and developing sports infrastructure in the region.
