During a meeting with the Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko the management of EuroChem confirmed the date of launching new ammonia production plant.
The factory will be opened in June 2019. The new production site is located in the territory of Phosphorit Industrial Group in Kingisepp.
According to the estimates of the CEO of EuroChem Igor Nechaev, the volume of investments in construction of the factory will exceed 1.2 billion USD, the capacity will come to about 2,700 tonnes per day of 1 million ammonia per year.
“New factory will become the largest manufacturer of ammonia in Russia. Thus, Kingisepp will become one of the centres of chemical industry in Russia which is export-oriented,” noted Alexander Drozdenko.
Construction of the ammonia production plant started in the third quarter of 2015. The project includes construction of an ammonia synthesis plant (NH3), a warehouse for liquid ammonia, creation of infrastructure and logistics facilities.
The project received all necessary expert reports and permits required by the legislation of the Russian Federation and passed international examination concerning environmental protection and protection of social environment, industrial safety and received a positive review.
