Exporters of agricultural and food products will be able to reimburse expenses on transportation of their goods by sea transport.
Leningrad region became one of the initiators of such changes after appeal of the regional enterprises JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS RUS and Galactika Group of Companies.
Alterations to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation “On provision of subsidies from the federal budget to Russian organizations for partial reimbursement of expenses on transportation of agricultural and food products” allow reducing transportation expenses.
Before companies were able to receive federal subsidies for transportation of their export cargo by the sea only to the Russian boundary, but not to an end user. In fact, enterprises located near seaports did not receive government support.
Deputy Chairman of the Government of Leningrad Region Dmitry Yalov noted that exporters of Leningrad region, which has access to the sea and developed port infrastructure, could not efficiently participate in the subsidy programme and reimburse a significant part of their expenses on transportation. Removal of restrictions at the federal level proves efficiency of team work with business.
Enterprises of Leningrad region will be able to get these subsidies since 2021, including for shipment in the fourth quarter of 2020.
