The Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant has begun serial production of a new gondola car model. Its key feature is its increased payload capacity (77 tons) and body volume (94 cubic meters). This model is targeted at the coal, metallurgy, and mining sectors.
Thanks to its lightweight body (thanks to the use of specialized alloys) and increased capacity, loading capacity increases by more than 10%. This allows for the transportation of up to 550 tons of additional freight in a single train compared to a train of standard cars!
Despite external challenges, the plant is launching serial production of an innovative product that will enhance the competitiveness of the regional mechanical engineering industry. The new car will increase production capacity,
noted Yegor Misheryakov, Vice Governor of the Leningrad Region for Economic Development.
