An online meeting with the Swiss-Russian Chamber of Commerce and the representatives of business took place last week.
The Head of the Investment Projects Support Department Anna Medvedeva presented the investment potential of Leningrad region. She talked about the existing advantages of the region and the opportunities for the development of foreign companies. The Head of the Swiss-Russian Chamber of Commerce Andreas Bitzi told about the possible directions for cooperation.
About 10 companies participated in the meeting. The conversation was lively and substantive. Some of the participants shared their experience of the implementation of investment projects in Leningrad region. For example, Ahlers opened its headquarters in 2020. Its Executive Director Robert Mann highly appreciated the efficiency of work of the Economic Development Agency of Leningrad Region in terms of the support provided to the project.
In addition, we would like to mention that according to the results of the first quarter of 2021, trade turnover between Leningrad region and Switzerland amounted to 23.1 million USD. In comparison with the same period of 2020, it has grown by 17.2% as the result of the increase in the import of industrial equipment.
