Slantsevsky District is located in the southwest of the Leningrad Region, in the interfluve of the Narva and Luga rivers. To the north and east, the district borders Kingiseppsky, Volosovsky, and Luzhsky districts of the Leningrad Region; to the south – Gdovsky and Plyussky districts of the Pskov Region. Since 1993, the state border with the Republic of Estonia runs along the western border of the district, following the Narva River.

Population: 43,720 people (urban population share – 75.4%, rural population – 24.6%)

Infrastructure: The city of Slantsy is located on the Saint Petersburg railway line. By road, the city and district are connected to Saint Petersburg, Pskov, Luga, Gdov, Novgorod, Ivangorod, and the port of Ust-Luga.

Economy: In recent years, positive trends have emerged in the economy of Slantsevsky District. Although the leading enterprises from the Soviet period are still undergoing reorganization for new market conditions, investment in fixed capital continues. Over the past five years, manufacturing enterprises have shown positive dynamics in production volumes. The average number of employees at large and medium-sized enterprises as of 01.01.2026 was 6,064 people, with an average salary of 92.8 thousand rubles.
