Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant is the leading manufacturer of new-generation freight carriages in the CIS countries. The enterprise is one of the largest transport vehicle plants in Europe regarding the volume of investments, the production areas and technological equipment.

2008: construction of Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant was launched
2009: the enterprise became a part of the Union of Manufacturers of Railway Equipment and signed a Charter on cooperation with Russian Railways, the Union of Manufacturers of Railway Equipment and Russian transport industry enterprises, manufacturers of railway equipment and components
2011: first workers of Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant received keys from their flats in new residential quarters
30 January 2012: opening ceremony of Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant. This year the first smelting at the foundry of the Plant took place
2014: the 10,000th carriage was constructed
2016: the Plant began exporting carriages to countries in the Middle-East, and casting – to North America
2017: the 50,000th carriage and the 100,000th wagon trolley was produced. A workshop for the processing of cast iron, which has no equivalent in Russia, was launched. The produced freight cars were exported to New Guinea.
2018: Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant was audited by one of the main European railway operators, Deutsche Bahn and was recognized as a good supplier. At the InnoTrans exhibition in Berlin, a six-axle platform carriage produced by the Plant was presented. The way into the European market was opened
