A meeting with the delegation of International Chamber of Commerce of Sichuan province took place in the Front Office for Investor Relations of Leningrad Region.
The first agreements on possible cooperation were reached during a visit of Director of Economic Development Agency of Leningrad Region Andrey Sergeev to China in May 2019. During the meeting the delegation headed by Vice President of Sichuan Chamber of Commerce Juan Lee discussed access of the enterprises of Leningrad region to the Chinese market, development of trade relations between the regions, interaction with Chinese Committee for Promotion of International Trade in Sichuan.
Investment opportunities of Leningrad region and promising niches for interaction with regional business were presented by Director of the Agency Andrey Sergeev and Deputy Director of Industry Development Centre of Leningrad Region Vera Shtokaylo.
Priority tasks include exploration of opportunities for participation of regional manufacturers in exhibitions in Sichuan province, search for partners for projects in mechanical engineering, food industry, healthcare, wood processing, chemical industry.
The economy of Sichuan province is actively developing. The GRP of the province amounted to 4 trillion 67.8 billion yuan (597.9 billion USD), having expanded by a trillion within just three years. More than 90 million people live in the province.
