The Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko and the Chairman of VEB.RF Igor Shuvalov paid a working visit to Kingiseppsky district.
“A large-scale project on ethane gas processing near the port of Ust-Luga was announced. These investments will be directed not only to creation of production capacities. These are investments in comprehensive development of territories. The largest project will provide several thousand jobs, development of social infrastructure, new housing construction in the region,” said the Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko.
During the visit its participants discussed the project of construction of the Complex for ethane gas processing, got acquainted with development projects in Kingisepp and cross-border agglomeration Kingisepp – Ust-Luga – Ivangorod – Narva, examined a site at the commercial seaport of Ust-Luga.
VEB.RF participates in implementation of this project. Comprehensive development of the territory of microdistrict No. 7 in Kingisepp for employees of the enterprises is considered as a new area of cooperation. It provides creation of modern housing and social infrastructure.
It is planned that by 2022-2023 up to 190,000 square meters of housing will be constructed for families of more than 3,000 employees. It is also planned to construct a kindergarten for 468 children and a school for 710 students.
Chairman of VEB.RF Igor Shuvalov noted that “ethane gas processing complex in Ust-Luga is a good example of a project with multiplier effect for the economy of the country, its creation will result in comprehensive development of several nearby cities”.
Economic Development Agency of Leningrad Region provides support to this large-scale investment project.
