A new factory of a German manufacturer of drive technology SEW-EURODRIVE was opened in Leningrad region. Investments in the enterprise amounted to about 35 million euro.
“Interest of German investors is confirmed once again and such innovative international companies as SEW-EURODRIVE choose our Leningrad region for placement of their production capacities. The enterprise is a good example for the region in terms of its production culture and labour productivity,” said the Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko.
The factory produces gear motors for lifting mechanisms and provides services for all range of drive technology manufactured by the company. The products of the company are used in the underground of Saint Petersburg and Moscow, in structures of the roof and pull-out field of Gazprom Arena stadium, at the dam of Saint Petersburg.
The planned capacity of the enterprise will come to 2,000 items of assembled goods per month, more than 500 items of repaired goods per year.
The factory is equipped with a German assembly line with total length of 33 metres which makes assembly process completely automated and works within one piece flow system. The experience of the leading world manufacturer will be used for the good of the region. Strategic partnership aimed at introduction of Industry 4.0 standards and lean manufacturing in Leningrad region will be developed with the company.
