The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin noted that a new factory of EuroChem in Leningrad region is a good example of development of cooperation with Italy.
During a press conference after a meeting with the Prime Minister of Italy Giuseppe Conte Vladimir Putin said that industrial cooperation is one of the most important directions of collaboration between Russia and Italy.
“I would like to note construction of ammonia production plant in Leningrad region which was commissioned a month ago. Investments came to a billion USD,” said Vladimir Putin.
Launch of the new enterprise for production of ammonia by EuroChem took place in June within St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The ammonia production plant is the largest investment project of EuroChem. The new production site is located in the territory of industrial group Phosphorit in Kingisepp. Construction of the new enterprise is a large investment project implemented in the period of 2016 – 2019. The total volume of investments in the project – 1 billion USD, capacity – 1 million tonnes of products annually. The project was implemented with participation of an Italian company Maire Tecnimont and Russian Velesstroy with support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Administration of Leningrad region and Export and Credit Agency of Italy SACE.
