Chairman of the Board of AHK Russland Matthias Schepp: “German business was, is and will be the champion in terms of localization in Russia. There is no other country which invests so much money in real Russian economy. According to German Federal bank, German business invested 3.2 billion rubles euro in Russia in 2018. This is the best result over the last 10 years. And these are not only well-known companies such as Mercedes or Volkswagen, this is also small and medium-sized business of Germany.”
In the first quarter of 2019 Russian economy received 1.75 billion euro of direct investment from German companies. This is one third more than in the same period of the last year.
According to investors, German business feels comfortable in Leningrad region. The companies which localized in the region long ago are expanding, new factories are being built.
