Implementation of national projects

Leningrad region is financially and methodically ready to complete tasks defined by the national projects.

The Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko told about this during a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

“In 2018 Leningrad region managed to achieve sustainable economic growth and social stability. According to the results of the year the region entered top-20 subjects of the Russian Federation in terms of the indices of socio-economic development. Last year we reached a record volume of investments – 466.9 billion rubles. Consolidated and regional budgets were executed with a surplus – 14.6 billion rubles and 13.2 billion rubles respectively. These high financial and economic indices allow us to organize work in the most efficient way in order to implement the national projects aimed at execution of the May decree of the Russian President,” reported Alexander Drozdenko to the head of the Russian Government.

In 2019 Leningrad region will receive 4.2 billion rubles from the federal budget for financing of its regional projects, co-financing from the regional budget is 2.5 billion rubles.

The Governor of Leningrad region thanked the Government of the Russian Federation for the opportunity to solve acute issues of the region within the frameworks of the national projects. For example, national project “Healthcare” includes increase of life expectancy of the residents. To achieve this the regional oncologic dispensary and regional vascular centres are reequipped with medical equipment, dispensaries and clinics are being constructed. National project “Demography” set a task to promote healthy lifestyle. In order to achieve this the Governor declared 2019 the Year of Healthy Lifestyle. Within this direction the region continues constructing sport facilities, equipping them with modern sport equipment, developing mass and street sport.
