Industry of Leningrad region has increased by 4.9% over the year and the volume of shipped goods – by 15.7%.

According to operational data provided by Petrostat (Federal Statistics Service of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region), Industrial Production Index came to 104.9% at the end of 2018. All industrial sectors are characterized by growth.

The greatest increase among processing industries belongs to:

  • manufacturers of finished metal products (26.1%)
  • manufacturers of machinery and equipment (26%)
  • manufacturers of vehicles and equipment (14.7%)

The volume of shipped goods of own production, works and services in all main sectors of industrial activity has increased by 15.7% over the year and amounted to 1214.3 billion rubles.

“Overall support of industry and measures aimed attraction of investment projects has positive results. Diversified economy of the region is growing which means stable growth of income of the population. According to the results of the last year, the expected average salary in Leningrad region will exceed 42,000 rubles – growth in comparison with 2017 will come to 10%. This is a very good indicator,” said the Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko.

The volume of transportation and storage services provided by organizations of Leningrad region came to 184.4 billion rubles and has increased by 19.2% in current prices in comparison with 2017.

The volume of performed work in construction has increased by 35.9% in comparison with the previous year.

Leningrad region is still among the regions with low unemployment. The number of the officially registered unemployed is 3.5 thousand people which is 0.1% less than in 2017. The level of the registered unemployment is 0.3%.
