Large-scale construction started in Ust-Luga

17-11-2021

Laying of the foundation of the Ethane-Containing Gas Processing Complex in Ust-Luga, Kingisepp District, has begun.

The constuctors poured the first concrete into the base of the Ethane-Containing Gas Processing Complex, which will combine gas processing and liquefaction facilities, as well as a gas-chemical enterprise technologically connected with them.

Almost 400 cubic meters of high-strength concrete were poured into the foundation of a hundred-ton compressor - one of the most technologically complex parts of a polyethylene production plant. Also, foundation work began at the ethylene plant, where concrete is poured into the base of the first of 14 pyrolysis furnaces. In total, by the end of this year, it is planned to lay about 7.5 thousand cubic meters of concrete blend.

The foundation of the Complex is being built on driven piles - reinforced concrete pillars 12 meters long. It is designed for long-term operation of large-sized equipment under static, dynamic, wind, snow and other loads.

Construction work is well established, going in a continuous mode. Currently, the construction of the Complex employs over two thousand specialists and over a thousand pieces of equipment. For the organization of work, more than 3 million tons of various cargoes have already been delivered to the facility, including concrete, metal structures and piles. These are mainly local materials. The EGPC in Ust-Luga will become the first complex in Russia with a full cycle of deep processing of hydrocarbons. The project is being implemented by JSC “RusGazDobycha” and PJSC “Gazprom” with the support of the state corporation “VEB.RF”.
