Leningrad cheeses: both import substitution and export

A new production facility for the production of curd cheeses by the Molochnaya Kultura company was launched in the Volosovsky district.

This launch will quadruple the production of cheese and cheese products in the Leningrad region. The governor of the Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko took part in the solemn start-up of production.

The capacity of the new production of Dairy Culture is 15 tons of products per day, or 4.8 thousand tons per year. The volume of investments is 1 billion rubles, more than 20 new jobs have been created at the enterprise.

As the governor noted, now the region is considering the possibility of implementing three more projects for the production of cheeses in the same way as the Dairy Culture plant was built - with the participation of the state. The region compensates up to 150 million rubles for the construction of cheese factories.

The assortment line of the Dairy Culture plant includes more than 70 items. Delivery of milk for processing is carried out from the dairy farm of Seltso CJSC, located a few kilometers from the plant.

The agreement on the creation of a milk processing complex was signed in 2021 as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The implementation of the investment project included the modernization and construction of a complex of buildings and equipping it with technological equipment for milk processing, production and storage of curd cheeses and desserts.

At the end of 2021, the production of cheese and cheese products in the Leningrad Region increased by a third to 1.2 thousand tons (133.4% by 2020), the production of curd products amounted to 2.6 thousand tons (108.3% ), the total volume of milk processing in the region increased by 2.1% and amounted to 238.8 thousand tons.
