28-10-2020

Sledge hockey, a new care home for the elderly, a platform for local interaction, an app for migrants, a shipyard museum, a map of youth communities – all these projects from Leningrad region are competing for federal support.

A strategic session of the regional phase of the forum Strong Ideas of New Time took place in Leningrad region.

The region submitted 36 applications to the Strong Ideas of New Time contest which is carried out by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, and 6 of them have been selected by the experts. The authors of 100 best ideas will be able to present them at the forum Strong Ideas of New Time in Sochi. At the end of the forum the most promising projects will receive support of the organizers and partners of the event.

“Leningrad region constantly generates ideas and many of our successful practices have been implemented at the federal level. The ideas sent to the contest by Leningrad region include various spheres – social, sport, economic, historical, digital ones. But the most important thing is that behind all these ideas are passionate people, people able to implement the ideas, be useful for the society and the region,” said the Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko.

One of the projects submitted to the contest – development in the sphere of sledge hockey as a socialization tool for children and teens with disabilities. The first sledge hockey team for children Red Rocket is already established in Leningrad region. This experience can be replicated, teams are offered to be created in Kirishi and Kingisepp and at the federal level.

Another project – “Care home for the elderly in Nevskaya Dubrovka” involves provision of comprehensive social and medical assistance. This includes not only treatment, rehabilitation and health centre, but also an educational centre for the experts and a scientific and practical Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Cognitive Disorders.

A project of the platform Mestniyresurs.ru for citizens, non-profit organizations, social entrepreneurs and local manufacturers was invented and implemented in Volosovsky district. For the citizens this website became a comfortable source of information, and for non-profit initiatives and small business – an additional support for activity.

Another digital project is Salamport app for migrant workers developed by Leningrad Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The app includes vacancies, rental housing services, money transfer services, legal services, credits, leasing, services for obtaining patents, purchase of tickets, etc.

A tourism project was presented by the citizens of Lodeynoe Pole which is a homeland of the Baltic fleet. It is planned to create a museum complex dedicated to construction of wooden sailing ships of those years. The project will help to create modern tourism infrastructure, new interesting objects and attract tourists to the banks of the Svir river.

An interactive map CommunityHub is a project for development of youth communities. The map will unite all existing communities, their capabilities and will allow following all current events, forums, participating in regional projects. “All projects deserve support. Three of them have regional importance, they should be launched at the regional level – sledge hockey, the care home for the elderly, the museum complex in Lodeynoe Pole. And three other projects can be implemented here and replicated in other subjects of the Russian Federation. I hope that our participants will enter top-100 projects, but anyway we are ready to support all of them,” noted the Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko summing up the results of the presentation.
