Modern eco-technologies are being introduced at agricultural enterprises of Leningrad region.
The first in Russia environmental complex for processing chicken manure into thermal energy was established in Leningrad region. It was opened at Roskar Poultry Farm in Pervomayskoe, Vyborgsky district.
Processing of agricultural waste in an important issue for Leningrad region. The region occupies the first place in Russia in terms of egg production and the second place in terms of poultry stock.
The capacity of the first phase of the factory – processing of up to 240 tonnes of chicken manure per day, the capacity of the second phase – up to 500 tonnes. Investments amounted to 450 million rubles, the total cost of the project is about 900 million rubles.
“Leningrad region is a leader of the country in terms of production of eggs and poultry meat, that’s why recycling of chicken manure is very important for environment of our region. Recycling of manure solves two problems: allows protecting environment from unnecessary waste and turns this waste into income. The new factory will be producing heat and fertilizers,” noted the Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko.
The new factory uses the technology of quick drying of chicken manure at the temperature of 1,000 C. The processing results in mineral fertilizers – biochar and thermal energy for heating own facilities at the enterprise.
Besides, introduction of the second phase of the project will allow increasing the capacity of the complex and producing electric power for further use for production purposes.
