Deputy Director of Economic Development Agency of Leningrad Region Anastasia Mikhalchenko participated in a meeting with the delegation of Finland headed by the Mayor of Kotka Esa Sirviö. Colleagues from Development Agency of Kotka-Hamina also participated in the meeting organized by Leningrad Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
There are so many ideas for joint projects between Leningrad region and the Finnish region Kotka-Hamina that it seemed that time provided for the meeting would not be enough to discuss all issues. The participants agreed on joint events within the projects of cross-border cooperation, coordination of efforts in tourism and, especially, bicycle touring and development of water communication between Vyborg and Kotka. Besides, Russian partners are being searched for the cluster of small aircrafts and new aviation technologies.
The colleagues also told about launch of the environmental programme ZeroWaste connected with refusal to use plastic and environmental conscious behavior.
Anastasia Mikhalchenko invited Finnish colleagues to participate in the second investment forum of Leningrad region “Baltic Region – East Asia” which will take place on 16 September 2020.
