Leningrad region entered top 3 regions of Northwestern federal district in terms of non-resource non-energy exports.
Over 7 months of 2021 this export category has increased in the region by 46.5% in comparison with the previous year and amounted to 2.18 billion USD in monetary terms.
Non-resource non-energy products exported from Leningrad region mostly consist of fertilizers and ammonia produced by chemical enterprises, as well as lumber, tyres and tobacco.
Estonia is the largest importer over 7 months of 2021. Since the beginning of the year, non-resource non-energy products have been also exported from the region to Kazakhstan, Finland, Belarus, the Netherlands and other countries. Generally, according to Russian Export Center, non-resource non-energy exports from the regions of Northwestern federal district has increased by 34.5% over 7 months of 2021 in comparison with the same period of the previous year.
