New project of PhosAgro in Volkhov

PhosAgro – one of the largest manufacturers of phosphate fertilizers in the world – has started construction of a complex for production of phosphate fertilizers and a power plant on the basis of Metachem. The Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko participated in the presentation of the project and the opening ceremony.

“Decision of PhosAgro to implement another investment project in Leningrad region proves the fact that we create really favourable conditions which attract investors.  PhosAgro is becoming a key employer and taxpayer in Volkhov and creates hi-tech jobs with decent wages. This successful experience of the investor in Leningrad region is a signal for our potential partners that we are the leaders of investment rating in Russia not by chance and we are ready to work with internationally famous companies,” noted the head of the region.

The volume of investments in the project, which will be financed using own and attracted funds, is estimated as more than 23 billion rubles. Implementation period – 2023. The project includes construction of sulfuric acid production plant with capacity of 800,000 tonnes per year, mineral fertilizers production plant, warehouses for liquid ammonia and finished products. The production plant will create more than 200 jobs. The volume of production of mineral fertilizers by Metachem will exceed 840,000 tonnes per year after reaching the project capacity.

The investment project will be implemented using the best available technologies and solutions of Russian and foreign companies and institutes. New production plants will fully meet the strictest standards of environmental legislation in Russia and Europe.
