An online conference of Leningrad region “Rent. Crisis. Searching for a compromise together” took place on 23 April.
Representatives of the economic team of the Government of Leningrad region, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Economic Development and Investment Activity of Leningrad Region Anton Finogenov, Chairman of the Committee for Development of Small, Medium-Sized Business and Consumer Market of Leningrad Region Svetlana Nerushay, Leningrad Regional Committee for State Property Management and representatives of business – tenants and landlords.
Currently business is in a difficult situation: both tenants and landlords suffer losses. Leningrad region has already approved measures of support for small and medium-sized business in this direction. In particular, alterations in the regional law were made in order to reduce rental costs in the affected industries.
Support includes reduction of corporate property tax for landlords to the sum which they can provide to their tenants as a discount, but not less than a half of monthly payment. Small and medium-sized business of Leningrad region from the affected industries also do not need to pay rental payments for state and municipal property for three months.
