Now is the best time for Indian companies to invest in Russia.
The Committee for External Relations of the Leningrad Region organized a meeting between the government of the region and the Consulate General of the Republic of India in St. Petersburg.
Oleg Konovalov, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Leningrad Region, outlined the main goal of the meeting as a mutual desire to develop closer relations, especially in terms of growing export-import trade, investments and in the humanitarian sphere.
Anastasia Mikhalchenko, Director of the Economic Development Agency of the Leningrad Region, presented the investment potential of the region and invited a delegation from India to participate in high-level negotiations at the Leningrad Region’s stand at SPIEF22.
Indian partners have offered to improve the supply of products that have been suspended due to sanctions, such as salt and enzymes needed to make cheese and dairy products. Indian partners are also interested in purchasing fertilizers from Russia.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Tourism and Culture Committee Yevgeny Tchaikovsky, who spoke about the tourism potential of the region, and also invited Indian partners to popular regional festivals.
